The history of creating glass can be traced back to 3500 BCE. Rudimentary forms of glass blowing techniques have been recorded as early as 50BC. The origins of the first stained glass windows are lost in history. But glass as art has come a long way since, with flamboyant artists like Dale Chihuly creating extravagant pieces for hotels and galleries. This Eyeopener Tour will introduce you to 2 master glass artists and their work. We will also visit some special spaces where art glass reigns. Join us for this fun and informative Sunday afternoon art adventure.
What started as a group of art adventurers trying to out discover and out entertain each other in 1986 has turned into the award winning Eyeopener Tour series. Over 15,000 guests have toured visionary folk art environment and collections that make you stop, look and look again. The folks at Texas Monthly were so impressed that they included the Eyeopener Tours as "One of the top 50 things all Texans should do."
