It started last autumn when the Orange Show, Houston’s center for visionary art, discovered a huge number of bees on the property. And with those bees came a lot of honey. They contacted Big Daddy’s Hot Sauces, Houston’s award winning all natural hot sauce makers, and asked if there was something they could do with the honey. After some experimenting in the kitchen for a while a bbq sauce was born, the Orange Show Fire Blossom Special. The sauce brings flavors of oranges and honey with a kick of habanero and, as with all Big Daddy’s Sauces, Houston’s microbrewery St. Arnold beer. The Fire Blossom Special is a light bbq sauce that really combines awesome unusual flavor with heat (and with no high fructose corn syrup). The sauce will be debuting at the Austin and Houston Hot Sauce Festivals in the next couple of weeks and will be available at the Orange Show website (http://www.orangeshow.org) and Big Daddy’s website (www.bigdaddysassburn.com) as well as other eclectic Houston stores.
