But before you head out there, construct your very own marshmallowy masterpiece out of the beloved sugary candy PEEPS and participate in our Fourth Annual Houston PEEPS Art Contest!
ABOUT THE 4th ANNUAL HOUSTON PEEPS ART CONTEST
The Houston PEEPS Art Contest is all about being creative! PEEPS Art Contests occur in many cities across the nation, but The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art is excited to bring the PEEPS Art Contest to Houston.
How does the contest work?
The concept is simple – use PEEPS, the delicious sugary marshmallow treats, to create a sculpture, mosaic, diorama, or other type of visual art. PEEPS do not have to be the main component of the piece, but they should be the focus. Maybe it’s the reenactment of an historical event, an image of a tabloid pop star, or perhaps a replica of a famous piece of art – the options are endless!
When are contest entries due?
Bring your marshmallow masterpiece to the Orange Show’s Easter Orange Hunt, at the Orange Show Monument on Saturday March 26 th before 11am.
At 1pm a panel of judges will determine first, second and third place winners in children (12 & under) and adult categories.
Winners will receive gift cards and PEEP prizes and will be featured on the Orange Show’s website.
Is it free?
While admission is free to the public, we are encouraging folks to make a $5 donation per child that would go towards the Orange Show Foundation so that we can keep making awesome events (such as this one)!
