Inspired by the belief that art is for everyone, the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art enriches the surrounding community with colorful vibrant murals.
Since our inception, beginning with the first Eyeopener Tours, we have worked to raise awareness about the rich history of community murals and the importance of their presence in Houston’s predominently Hispanic East End neighborhood.
Beginning in 1996, we began to take a more active role in the creation of local murals with our Mural Arts Project (MAP). Since that time we have initiated, inspired and instructed work on a wide range of projects throughout the city.
MAP includes our activities in community dialogues, graffiti abatement efforts, gang prevention activities, restoration, initiation, documentation and promotion of murals and other public art projects that make a city wide impact one neighborhood at a time.
If you are interested in donating a wall, supplies or other resources for the Mural Arts Project please contact our office at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 713-926-6368.
