Art Car Entry Awards

We have assembled an impressive panel of judges. They will make their decisions based on theme, craftsmanship, design and originality. Official judging takes place the morning of the parade from 9:00am—11:30 am and final judging occurs during the parade. The judging categories are as follows:

• Mayor’s Cup (Judges’ Choice)

• Parade Participants’ Choice

• Best Art Cars (4) - decorated, embellished or augmented four or more wheeled vehicles. Judges may select as many as 4 winners in the Best Art Car category.

• Best Contraption—carts, chariots, constructions, couches, lawnmowers, wagons, wheelchairs, wheeled sculptures, oversized inchworms, vacuum cleaners etc.

• Best Cycle—decorated uni-, bi-, tri-cycle, motorized or not, includes scooters.

• Best Everyday Driver—any art car used as a daily means of transportation.

• Best Lowrider—painted, hydraulic, chopped.

• Best Music—ensemble on decorated vehicle with band.

• Best Painted—any painted or airbrushed entry.

• Best Performance—any entry that displays a performative element show on wheels.

• Best Political Statement—any entry with political overtones, overt or otherwise.

• Greg Blankenship Skater(s) Award — best decorated group or individual on skates.

• Best Entry by Youth Group—entry created by 4 or more under age 18.
